Liquor-regulation oficio (spans n179-n181): forwards Cap.n Ayud.te Inspector Soler's oficio embracing 'dos puntos de importancia': 1º 'la venta de vino y Aguardiente en este Presidio (Loreto) ha sido libre desde q.e las Misiones comenzaron á producirlo', and since the only consumers are the soldiers whose families make up most of the pueblo, Fages warns 'de prohibirse enteram.te se originarán los inconven.tes de q.e atropellando la prohibicion han de introducirlo'; 'no se admiten p.a el espendio de estos caldos alhajas de municion', the comandante is charged 'apercibiendo á los vendedores no exedan en su espendio á persona alg.a mayor cantidad (siendo aguardiente) q.e uno ó medio cuartillo; q.e no admitan prendas de ning.a especie, so pena de perderlas; q.e tocadas las oraciones á nadie se venda lo mas mínimo, ni menos á los sugetos q.e se sabe padecen el vicio de la embriaguez'; 2º since the Peninsula has 'no hay trafico ni comercio alg.º' and the old missions' only resource is 'el escasísimo vestuario de sus naturales (reducido á un sendal y corta Camiseta)', the fruit and little wine of their vineyards would suffer worse nakedness if cut off from 'el casi único advitrio q.e tienen sus Ministros p.a cubrirles del referido modo.'
