'Inspección y remoción de indios' — report briefly the number of gentile rancherias fixed on the beaches of the Canal, with the name of each captain, distances between one another & to the missions (San Buenaventura to Sta Bárbara church), the number of individuals each has; the means to reduce them near Sta Bárbara church despite the great difficulties of maintaining them in mission for lack of lands & water to assure sufficient harvests.
