CONTENT NOTE ONLY: «El padron de la mis.n a fin de 97 era 509 individuos, 173 hombres, 139 mujeres, 108 muchachos, 99 muchachas, de los cuales se hallan huidos 46 hombres adultos, 34 adultas, 27 niños de 8 años abajo y 31 niñas - en todo 138 - dejando en efectivo 371.» No prospect of growth «porqe no hay gentiles pa agregar - y de los neofitos se mueren muchos»; no better site than Branciforte between Sta Cruz and S.n Fr.co for a pueblo; later settlements possible at el Pajaro.
