Tithe-account grievance: 'Sobre ciertos cargos de la cta. de diezmos' — traces his *diezmo* charges across Gov. Luis Argüello (comisario Antº Osio), Gov. Echandía / José Figueroa (comisario Rafael Gonzales), and now Prefect José Castro's 1839 collection via colector Luis Chaboya; asks to be charged only 100 head of increase, 'hace algunos años que no se me socorrió en nada pr. esa comisaría.' ⚠ marginal decree signed Jimeno, Monterey 30 Aug 1839, granting it & ordering the Comisario to make the charge (pp.667–8)

Ignacio Martínez (Tente. Retirado, agregado á la Compª. de S. Franco.) to Alvarado, Rancho de Ntra. Sra. de la Merced, 1839-08-02, Departmental State Papers, IV, p.665–668, Archives of California, C-A 29, Bancroft Library, University of California, Berkeley.Cite the document by series, tomo and original tomo page, as the literature does; the C-A number locates it in the repository. To cite this catalogue entry itself, use https://archivesofcalifornia.com/record/ca29/ca29-d340.htmlThe originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
