'Le dice que le constan los inconvenientes que le hace pres.te el Com.te de este Presidio, sobre destinar á dos Indios [?Individuos] de su Comp.a á la Escolta de la Mis.n de S. Buenaventura segun su superior orden' [Soler confirms the objections raised by the Santa Barbara comandante to detaching two men of his company to the San Buenaventura mission escolta]; adds that the officer keeps the duty roster ('la Escala p.a la fatiga') with rectitude and reason, and Fages will resolve as he pleases. Reading of 'Indios' uncertain.
