Heading: 'Pedro Amador á Fages sobre un casamiento'. The Padre Presidente had noticed that Boronda, 'estando de pretendiente, estuviera en su casa' (Amador's); Amador knew it but tolerated it since Boronda was teaching one of his sons, and chiefly to feed him. Padre Cambon wrote the lieutenant to have Boronda put out; reassigned to the Mision, he had to be taken there 'porque se embriagó como acostumbraba'. The girl, seeing this and that he then produced 'un testigo falso' before the padre, refused to marry him; Boronda thereupon raised against Amador 'un testimonio falso como Judas'. Amador asks Boronda be ordered to leave, his credit and his household's 'nunca se han visto en plaza'.
