Verbatim heading: '1788 Abril 23 - San Diego / Fages á Hermenegildo Sal sobre inutilidad de cierto trigo'. English gloss: Fages to Hermenegildo Sal, on certain wheat being unfit. Fages requires Sal to prove by certificate and witnesses that wheat shipped in payment to the mission was so bad it could not be borne aboard and was thrown out on the beach. An early Sal habilitado-accountability datapoint. Second of three documents on this leaf.

What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
