Departmental State Papers, San José, tomo IV+ · BANC MSS C-A 45, document 495

VERBATIM HEADING: '1827. En.o 5. Mont. / Jose Castro al ayuntam.to de S. Jose. / Ayuntam.to de Mont.' GLOSS: results of the Monterey municipal election. Jose Castro, later comandante general, taking office as alcalde of Monterey on 1 January 1827. NOTE: the second rejidor surname is written with an ambiguous final letter, readable as Tafoya or Taforo; I record what is on the leaf and do not resolve it. NOTE also that the register jumps back to 1827 here, beginning a new sub-series.
