Entry heading verbatim: 'O.bre. 13. (Dos Dcts) pp 451.- 52.- 441.- 42.' followed by the document title, in which Savage struck out one word and wrote another above it: 'Circular [sobre struck through, de written above] cumplim.to de ley sobre españoles'. Full text copied, not abstracted. Opens: 'El Excmo. Substance: enforcement of the 20 March 1829 expulsion-of-Spaniards law. Resident Spaniards must present to the government the exception documents obtained from either chamber or from the executive under its extraordinary faculties; the governor gives them a provisional resguardo and forwards the documents to the secretaría to be verified; if legitimate they are returned so the holders may remain in safety, if not the holders fall under the penalties of the laws. Those returning to the Republic through the ports and land frontiers with such documents may disembark at once but may not go inland beyond 'el primer punto de salubridad'. The alcalde is to send, by return of post, the exceptions held by the Spaniards under his jurisdiction, warn those without them to leave the Republic, and remit 'lista nominal de los comprendidos en ella' so passports can be issued and their departure verified at the first opportunity. Text runs from n108 through n109 and closes at the top of n110.
