A self-styled Indian ayuntamiento at Mission S. Gabriel pressed a claim on the Los Angeles ayuntamiento; Argüello rules no mission has or can have an ayuntamiento without his approval, and remands the Indian Manuel Antonio to the ecclesiastical tribunal, wholly inhibiting the LA ayuntamiento — after Ruiz takes his declaration before 2-3 witnesses.
