'Dice que cuando se hicieron las elecciones de diputado á favor de J. M. Padres, este ejercia el mando político y militar de la parte pral de la B. California, que en este departamⁿ de la frontera que consta de unos 800 habitantes nada se sabe de esto, que en Loreto no se procedió á dhas elecciones y que si se repiten estad.' — when the diputado election was held in favor of J. M. Padrés he held the political-military command of the main part of Baja California; the frontier district (~800 inhabitants) knew nothing of it, Loreto held no such election, and he asks whether they should be repeated
