Estrada petitions Arrillaga to open the proof: 'hallandome comisionado por descreto de treinta de Julio del año próximo pasado, dado por el Exmo Sinor Virrey de N.E. por defensor de las temporalidades ocupadas à los regulares de la compañía de Jesus... pido à Vmd se sirva examinar en toda forma los testigos que yo presentare al tenor del interrogatorio que comprende los veinte y cuatro puntos que acompaño'. Asks admission on unstamped paper 'por no haverlo sellado'. Signed 'Real Presidio de Loreto, y Agosto tres de mil setecientos ochenta y nueve = José Maria Estrada'. Spans n20–n21. ⚠ Estrada dates the viceregal decree 30 JULY; the despacho itself (n19) reads 30 June 1788.
