'Revilla-Gigedo á Fages. Sobre escoltas pa. misioneros — Dice que tendrá presente las causas qe. le impidieron dar escolta á los Padres del Carmelo, pa. si llegase el caso que Fages recela en su carta de 30 de Octe. último.' Viceroy acknowledges Fages's reasons for withholding a guard from the Carmel friars and undertakes to keep them in mind. NOTE: Savage first entered this as 'No poder dar escolta á los Padres de la Mision del Carmelo', struck that heading through with X marks, and re-entered it more fully at the foot of the leaf — one document, one page cite (p.544), not two.
