'Fuga de indios.' 'Participa qe. las fincas de Sta. Ysabel, Santa Mónica y las de la Mision estan en ruina, debido á la falta de gente, pues los no desfilados se han fugado, y no hay quien trabaje: solo quedan en la Mision, 50 personas, viejos, jovenes y mujeres — los demas estan en Sta. Clara, Los Angeles y otros ranchos.' [Sta. Ysabel and Santa Mónica estates ruined for want of hands; only 50 souls left at the mission, the rest scattered to Santa Clara, Los Angeles and ranchos.] Tomo IX.
