State Papers, Missions, tomo VI–XI · BANC MSS C-A 51, document 397

Regrets the best of the rooms the pueblo needed was ceded to 'fr. Antº Anzar' [= Fr. José Antonio Anzar], who already had 14 rooms available. Gloss: Castro on Franciscan obstruction of the SJB pueblo; 'indígenas' here reads as natives/inhabitants of the place, not certainly Indians.
