Vicente Fran.co de Sarria arengó q.e en 1.er lugar se debia de tener presente á los indios como dueños de ellas y q.e se les tuviese presente en particularidad y comunidad' [= that in the first place the Indians must be held present as owners of them, and held present both individually and as a community], and that the matter be laid before Mexico for that superior authority to determine. Carrillo and Carlos Castro backed the dictamen 'con la condicion q.e no se incluyesen en él á las Misiones q.e se han apropiado sitios q.e no son suyos' [excluding the missions which have appropriated sites not theirs]; Sarría agreed provided it were proved they did not belong to them. The Sr. Presidente then proposed cutting back individuals holding accumulated lands; Palomares agreed provided each man's services and family were weighed; the body concurred. On cutting back individuals with little stock, all opined the missions be cut back too. Resolved to await the superior authority and record the matter by acta. ⚠ PAGE-SYSTEM NOTE (corrected 2026-08-27): Savage gives NO libro cite for this acta; the surrounding libro cites run 41-2 then 45-6, so it plausibly occupied libro pp. 43-44, but that is inference and 43/44 appear nowhere on the leaves. orig_page holds the ink corner foliation.
