Margin mark x. Spans n104-n105. Heading “Sobre intestatos de Jesuitas.” Rafael de Landívar, presbítero de la extinguida Compañía, on his father's death made in 1756, with his prelate's licence, absolute and general renunciation of the legítima paterna in his mother's favour; then in 1765, when about to profess, granted a testament leaving six thousand pesos to his prima Petrona Abaurrea and the rest to his hermana Rita Josefa Landívar, providing that if she predeceased the mother the residue go to named fundaciones, and ceding his right to inherit the molino y hacienda llamada del Portal in favour of the Colegio of his religion in Guatemala. Consequently the King orders that ex-Jesuits, though able to inherit goods, “no podrán disponer de ellos en vida ni en muerte,” per article 8 of the real Cédula of 5 de diciembre 1783, except in particular cases where by special circumstances he deigns to dispense.
