On schoolmasters, etc.] Savage abstract. Prior acta approved. First reading given to two dictamenes: '1.o De la Comision de Gob.o en el expediente q.e forma la contestacion q.e da el Sr Hijar a las 8 proposiciones acordadas p.r la Corporacion en 22 del mismo mes.' '2.o De la de ensenanza publica en el que firma la lista nominal q.e remite el Sr Hijar de los preceptores q.e contrato p.a el Territorio, su dotacion y lugares donde deben desempenar sus destinos.' Both are Hijar-Padres colony business: his written answer to eight propositions the Diputacion had agreed on the 22nd of the month, and the nominal list of the schoolteachers he had contracted for California with their salaries and posts. These two dictamenes are what the long session of 3 November then debates.
