SESSION ACTA Heading verbatim: '+ 1834 = N.bre 3 = Mont. / Diputacion Territorial. Sobre estraccion de maderas &.a' [= 1834, November 3, Monterey. Territorial Deputation. On the extraction of timber, etc.] The SECOND session of 3 November 1834, the extraordinary sitting called for six that afternoon at the close of the ordinary session. A distinct acta with its own heading, page cite and closing vote. Savage abstract. Prior acta approved; the propositions of the Comision de Arbitrios put to discussion. 1a: 'Los Ayuntamientos en sus demarcaciones municipales de conformidad con art.o 8.o cap.t.o 1.o de decreto de 23 Junio de 1813 dictaran las providencias conducentes p.a la concervacion y repoblacion de los montes, estableciendo segun sus atribuciones penas correccionales a los infractores.' Approved. 2a prohibits the export of timber outside the Territory; carriage from port to port requires a written permit from the Alcalde; contrabandistas are fined the value of the wood as appraised by two peritos, the proceeds to the municipal fund. 3a: national and foreign vessels, 'previa calificacion del Capitan de P.to y permiso de Alcalde', may take the timber they need 'p.a sus usos ordinarios y reparacion de averias'. Approved. Carrillo then 'propuso q.e se declararan cerradas las sesiones extraordinarias y q.e vocales se retirasen a sus hogares. Aprovado.' This closes the 1834 extraordinary sessions; the register does not resume until 25 August 1835.
