SESSION ACTA Heading verbatim: 'o 1835. = Agosto 25. = Mont. / Diputacion Territorial - Comisiones, discurso &.a' [= 1835, August 25, Monterey. Territorial Deputation. Commissions, discourse, etc.] THE INSTALLATION OF THE 1835 DIPUTACION, copied in extenso. Note the internal date discrepancy: the heading reads 'Agosto 25' but the body opens 'En la Capital del Territorio a los 20 dias del mes de Agosto de 1835'. Present with the Sr Gefe Politico: Jose Castro, Manuel Jimeno Casarin, Antonio Buelna, Juan B. Alvarado and Salvio Pacheco; the third, fourth and fifth presented credentials, the sixth having left his behind at his place of residence. Commissions of revision named on the spot: Salvio Pacheco to examine Manuel Jimeno's credentials, and Jose Castro with Salvio Pacheco those of Juan B. Alvarado and Antonio Buelna. Their single proposition, 'Se aprueban las Credenciales de los C.C. Manuel Jimeno Casarin, Juan B Alvarado y Antonio Buelna', was voted and approved. A further commission reported on the legitimacy of Salvio Pacheco's appointment: 'Se da por legal el nombramiento de 2.o vocal suplente de esta Corporacion que recayo en el C. Salvio Pacheco en acta de 20 de Octubre de 1834.' Approved. The list of pending expedientes was read. The President then named the standing commissions: De propios y arbitrios, D.n Manuel Jimeno Casarin and Juan B. Alvarado; Colonizacion y terrenos valdios, D.n Jose Castro and Ant.o Buelna; Misiones, D.n Juan B. Alvarado, Jose Castro, Salvio Pacheco; Gob.o y Policia, Manuel Jimeno, Antonio Buelna, Salvio Pacheco; Reglamento y ordenanzas Municipales, Jose Castro; Obras Publicas, Antonio Buelna and Salvio Pacheco; De Industria, Jose Castro and Juan B. Alvarado; Instruccion Publica, Manuel Jimeno and Salvio Pacheco; Estadistica, Manuel Jimeno, Juan B. Alvarado and Antonio Buelna. The President then read a discourse opening 'E.S. He dicho.' Leave to retire was then granted to Sr Buelna for illness and the session was closed. This is the full membership and committee structure of the Diputacion that would sit through Figueroa's death in September 1835, and it is the head of the September 1835 sequence, five leaves before the band the catalog labels 'the Sept 1835 sessions'.
