SESSION ACTA Heading verbatim: '1834. = Agosto 2 = Mont. / Diputacion. Sesion del dia de la fecha.' [= 1834, August 2, Monterey. Deputation. Session of this day.] A complete short acta occupying the lower half of a single leaf, entirely inside the band and with no record of its own. In full substance: 'Leida y aprobada la acta anterior no habiendo otra cosa de que tratar se levantó la Sesion secreta para entrar en pública.' Signed 'José Figueroa = José M. Maldonado.' Closes 'p 22.' Short, but it is the structural key to the whole band: it states in Savage's own copy that the run just concluded was a series of SESIONES SECRETAS, corroborating the secrecy declaration voted at the close of the 31 July acta on the same leaf. The secularization reglamento of 1834 was therefore debated and enacted by the Diputacion in closed session, and this acta records the moment the body reopened its doors.
