Legislative Records, tomo III–IV · BANC MSS C-A 61, document 175

Previously uncatalogued — recovered by the 2026-08-27 coverage audit: it lay inside the span of a grouped entry covering n156-n190, which satisfied every coverage check while concealing it. Heading verbatim: '+ 1845. - Mayo 16. - Angˢ / (Sesion de este dia.)' [= 1845, May 16, Los Angeles. Session of this day.] Heading falls mid-leaf on n156, below the close of the preceding session. The Comision de gobernacion reports on the consulta of the Juzgado 1º of Los Angeles over timber cutting, with three resolutions: (1) cutting of timber prohibited except with the consent of the owners of the land where it is done; (2) on vacant land (terrenos valdios) timber may be cut for public service, and where such land is not immediately adjacent to the communities the Ayuntamientos are to arrange purchase of firewood and other timber under the order established in the laws, from private property with prior indemnification; (3) as to dry wood for firewood the existing rules stand.
