Heading verbatim: '+ 1845 - Mayo 23. - Angˢ / (Sesion de este dia.)' [= 1845, May 23, Los Angeles. Session of this day.] Comision de terrenos dictamen approving the grant made to Mariano Bonilla of the parage named Huerguero. The President then communicates to the Asamblea, with displeasure, a scandalous incident between the Juez 1º and the Juez 2º at San Francisco del Pais, and lays before it a representation of the neighbourhood relative to that event in which they declare they do not recognise the authority of the Juez 2º on account of his bad administration and the insult he offered against the authority of the Juez 1º, whom he had placed under arrest; a communication from the aggrieved authority asking to be relieved of his charge is also presented. The Asamblea resolves on the formation of a causa against the Alcalde 2º of San Francisco for his scandalous proceeding against the Juez 1º, and, with that Juez consenting, that the Government instruct the nearest authority to inquire into the legality of his election, the said Juez 1º meanwhile continuing in the discharge of his office until the matter is resolved.
