Legislative Records, tomo III–IV · BANC MSS C-A 61, document 194

Previously uncatalogued — recovered by the 2026-08-27 coverage audit: it lay inside the span of a grouped entry covering n156-n190, which satisfied every coverage check while concealing it. Heading verbatim: '+ 1845. Julio 9. - Angˢ / ( Sesion de este dia. )' [= 1845, July 9, Los Angeles. Session of this day.] ⭐ The boundary document, and the one that proves the band overruns: it begins at the very top of n189, two leaves before the band's declared end, and is not finished until part way down n191, which is where record d167 is declared to start. It is therefore described by NEITHER record. Content: first reading of the Comision de terrenos dictamen on the expedientes of the Ranchos la Asuncion of Pedro Estrada and Santa Margarita and San Onofre of the Señores Picos. The President observes that art. 3 of the Asamblea's Decreto for the arrangement of Tribunals prescribed hearing the Superior before making the ternas, and that this not existing the House should agree a measure to overcome the difficulty, its installation being indispensable. On C. Valle's motion it is agreed that a new decree issue from the Asamblea declaring that, the Tribunal Superior de Justicia not existing, which under the spirit of art. 3 of the Decreto of this month should be heard before the new appointment is made, a terna would be named to present to the Governor so that he might make the appointment of Ministros and Fiscal. Admitted; the session is suspended to confer on the matter, then resumed. By secret ballot the ternas result: for 1er Ministro, C. Jose Antº Carrillo, Juan Bandini, Juan B. Alvarado; for 2º Ministro, C. Manuel Requena, Juan Malarin, Antº Mª Osio; for Fiscal, C. Mariano Bonilla, Jose Antº Estudillo, Vicente Sanchez; declared elected by plurality of the six votes composing the Asamblea. Election then proceeds of the persons contemplated by art. 8, resulting in the naming of Manuel Dominguez, Ygnacio Coronel, Jose Abrego, Antº Carrillo, Raimundo Carrillo, Jose Salazar, Salvio Pacheco, Feliciano Soberanes, Antº Mª Ortega, Franᶜᵒ Javier Alvarado, Santiago Argüello and Guillermo Castro, who are declared elected, and the session terminated. This is the personnel list of the 1845 Superior Tribunal, the practical completion of the reglamento the band's record describes, and it currently has no catalogue entry of any kind.

The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
