- Previously read summary: 'Extracto de revista Apr; state of force'; orig_page: 'p.29–31'; scan: 'n203'. n203 (stamp 209 / ink 12) carries a letter on the presidio's fabric: most roofs need re-tiling, the almacenes, guardia and cuartel de Cavalleria must be renewed entirely, the second Yerba Buena battery would need earth, water and timber carried on men's shoulders, and the missions of S.n Francisco and S.ta Clara supply Indian labour 'no son como se les pide, sino como y cuando quieren darlo', as the engineer Alberto de Cordova can attest. Closing cite pp.36-37, not the claimed pp.29-31, and not an extracto de revista.
The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
