Rewritten 2026-09-22 from a direct reading of the leaf. This row previously carried an unfounded summary describing a document the leaf does not hold; its erratum of 2026-09-22 records what it used to say. The heading below is what the manuscript leaf actually carries. VERBATIM HEADING: «1797. Abril 3. S.ta Barb.a / Goycoechea á Borica. Economia encargada en efectos y generos de los almacenes». SUBSTANCE: he will maintain the company and their families on the goods in the presidio stores and what arrives this year with all possible economy, so that the credits owed the treasury may be retained in ready cash, the debt for arrears of tobacco deducted.

- Previously read summary: 'Extracto de revista Jul'; orig_page: 'p.132–133'; scan: 'n242'. the row claims an 'Extracto de revista Jul' at pp.132-133 on leaf n242. Leaf n240 (stamp 244) carries pp.132-133 and they are the 17 Dec 1797 'Avaluo de armamento a un soldado invalido hecho por los 2 peritos, el cabo Ortega y 1 soldado'. Leaf n242 (stamp 246 / ink 49), which the row actually pins, carries the economy enjoined on the almacenes (p.142), acknowledgement of the order to watch the coast (p.143) and the report that no young volunteers could be found so an invalid soldier was not discharged (p.144). Both the pin and the summary are wrong.
The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
