Gloss: Arrillaga to the Father Ministers of Mission Soledad, Monterey, 12 March 1794: he will order the cattle corral repaired, and that during part of the first watch (cuarto de prima) the horse herd be guarded, in order to prevent the damage of which the mission complains. A small but usable instance of the governor answering a mission complaint by ordering presidial guard duty over mission livestock.
