“Aprueba se retire el P. Fr. Magin Catalá.” [= approves the retirement of Fr. Magín Catalá]. Catalá, the long-serving minister of Santa Clara later venerated as the ‘Holy Man’, in fact remained in California until his death in 1830 — so this is a granted-but-unused retirement, worth a second look against the Santa Clara registers.
