English gloss: Jan 3, an American frigate arrives at San Diego. Jan 27, costs of building the San Francisco presidio offices; the order of 11 July 1803 on crediting recruits and surplus troops. Jan 28, troops are not to wear mourning except for field marshals and upward and the royal household troops; the criminal case against the Monterey soldier Mariano Duarte is forwarded. Feb 25, should the American-Russian expedition commanded by Captain Krusentrer (Krusenstern) reach the coasts of this jurisdiction it is to be succoured under the order of 27 July 1803. The Krusenstern item is the second of the two documents under Febrero 25 and is not in the export; the first is the letter already catalogued at n285.
