Provincial State Papers, tomo VII–VIII · BANC MSS C-A 4, document 30

Previously uncatalogued; recovered by the 2026-08-27 coverage audit. ⚠ PROVENANCE CORRECTED: this document was NOT concealed inside a grouped entry. It sits on n30, one leaf past the grouped stretch under review (n16-n29), on a leaf whose OTHER documents are catalogued (orig pp. 59-62). It is a plain uncatalogued document at orig p. 63/64, continuing that page sequence, which the boundary read happened to surface. Heading verbatim: 'o 1787. Oct. 23. Arispe / Com.dte gral Loyola - al Gob.or Fages (Monterrey)' [= 1787, October 23, Arispe. Commandant General Loyola to Governor Fages (Monterey).] That is, Loyola acknowledges that the mission inventories drawn up at the close of the previous year by the Franciscan ministers administering the missions of the new establishments, forwarded under Fages's oficio no. 437 of 20 June 1787, remain in his hands. The leaf says he holds them and nothing further; it records no instruction, no approval and no onward action.
