Headed 'Indios': on 'la salida q.e hizo el Cabo graduado de Sarg.to José Herrer, con la tropa á la Rancheria nombrada Huilantuliyami en busca de Indios cristianos huídos'; warns 'toda salida... no debe verificarse sin ántes consultarlo' given the risk 'á la tropa llendo una partida tan pequeña... [contra] una Rancheria tan belicosa como es la de Huilantuliyami; p.r lo menos q.e debia haber despachado, eran 10 homb.s'; also answers 3 instancias of 2 June, granting the corporal's but refusing the 2nd and 3rd: 'faltaria á las obligac.s de mi caracter si les concediera su pedimiento en las criticas ocurrencias del dia' — gloss: Sgt. José Herrera's under-strength sortie after fugitive neophytes to the warlike rancheria Huilantuliyami censured; all future expeditions need prior gubernatorial approval.
