Qq.1-19 (n8-n14) cover: the 30-plaza dotación; the 1717 grant of the Escuadra del Sur to the Jesuits; S. José del Cabo under Tte. Pedro de la Riva; the merger of both squadrons under Capt. Fernando de Rivera y Moncada and Tte. Blaz Fernández de Somera at the time of the expulsion; pay of 450 pesos (Loreto) vs 402 (Sur) against a 400-peso situado; effects shipped to the Ríos Yaqui, Mayo y Fuerte for maize, meat and frijol; brea, alquitrán, maderas, lanchas at Matanchel, panocha, azúcar; the crew of the King's barco (contramaestre, guardián, dos arráeces, carpintero, calafate, herrero, dos cocineros, catorce marineros) and the second ship «la Laurentana»; that the peninsula north of Loreto held no vecindario at all beyond the King's servants and a few mission servants; and Q.14 on the crews — «era de todas castas toda de tierra firme, y algunos Felipinos, y ninguno de la B. California... si entre ellos huvo alguno ó algunos Indios fueron tambien de tierra firme».
