Legislative Records, tomo III–IV · BANC MSS C-A 61, document 182

Previously uncatalogued — recovered by the 2026-08-27 coverage audit: it lay inside the span of a grouped entry covering n156-n190, which satisfied every coverage check while concealing it. Heading verbatim: '1845 - Junio 11. - Angˢ / (Sesion de este dia.)' [= 1845, June 11, Los Angeles. Session of this day.] Four leaves. First reading of the Comision de terrenos dictamen on several expedientes: approval of the grant to D. Fitch of eleven sitios at the parage named Sotoyome; approval of the grant to Carlos Guillermo Flugge of the parage named Boga; approval of four sitios de ganado mayor to Jose Franᶜᵒ Snook. Then the complaint of Antº Machado against the Ayuntamiento of Los Angeles, with three propositions from the commission, and a sharp exchange in which Botello holds the dictamen inadmissible as drawn, since the Ayuntamiento was competent to dispose of its own arbitrios and it was not proper for the Asamblea to authorise the fraud; the dictamen is nonetheless admitted. The President states how painful it is to be continually receiving complaints against the proceedings of the judges, and, the Government not intending to interfere in judicial matters as outside its faculties, recommends the commission to seek means of improving the administration.

The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
