Defect class C — a stale citation, not a fabricated summary. The scan was corrected to n252 on 2026-07-09, but BOTH citation columns were left at their pre-correction values: the row still cites Orig. p.171–175 / Savage 263–264, while the leaf reads pp.177–78. The citations are the error; the summary is sound.

The originals of these records burned in the 1906 San Francisco fire. What survives is Thomas Savage’s 1870s copy, and this page describes that copy.
