Whole entry, verbatim: 'Avisa que á causa de mal tiempo descargó la lancha en el puerto de Los Angeles, y que condujo dos Padres y dos familias, como tambien algunas cosas útiles para la tropa, con 3 cajones de cigarros para poner estanquillo y 4 tercios de la yerba del Coyote.' Bad weather forced the launch to discharge at the puerto de Los Angeles (the Baja California bay, not the pueblo); it carried two friars, two families, useful goods for the troop, three cases of cigars to set up a tobacco monopoly outlet, and four bales of yerba del Coyote.
